My 3 year, live-in girlfriend broke up with me. I managed to intuitively take many of the actions you suggested. Then, just as I was getting my power fully back (as you predicted would happen) - she contacted me and my family and we started communicating. All the old dreams and emotions rushed back and then she just as suddenly broke things off again. I was affected more by this second event than the first.
